Agile Reviews

For those IT organizations currently using Agile, we offer Agile Reviews. LeanDog will assign two or more, depending on the size of the organization, senior Agile Strategists / Coaches to ensure that the assessments are complete and the recommendations are executable.

Interview with Management (IT and Product Owner)

Discuss expectations and understanding of Agile, including management's role. Current state of Agile and the desired future state. Look at program management process. What Agile practices are currently in place at the management level? How is Agile being supported from the top down?

Interviews with Iteration Managers / Scrum Masters (IM/SM)

Discuss expectations and understanding of Agile, including IM role. Discuss pros and cons of current Agile implementation. Look at project management process. Discuss story board and review backlog. What are the current challenges with the teams? What are the current challenges with management support? Discuss current business involvement. Assess critical pain points.

Interviews with Each Team Member (Business Analysts / Quality Assurance Analysts) (Engineers / Developers)

Discussion of BA/QA practices, Engineering practices, and day to day activities. Discuss challenges with agile practices. Discuss backlog, story board, and tasking. How does the team execute work? Assess critical pain points.

Technical Assessment

Assessment of code quality including coverage, cyclematic complexity, coupling/cohesion, and general maintainability. Assessment of TDD/ATDD/BDD processes. Look at tools and processes including development environment, source management, continuous integration, and migration procedures.

Deliverable (Assessment & Recommendations)

Within one week following the end of the interview and assessment process, LeanDog will deliver a document including an overall assessment of the state of Agile, assessments of each team, and specific recommendations for the overall program and individual teams.
