Our Apprenticeship Program
LeanDog is proud to announce the 1st iteration of our apprentice program.
We are currently accepting candidates who meet the following criteria:
- Passion to learn Ruby on Rails, ATDD (acceptance test driven development), and agile software techniques
- Start at $20 an hour with an escalating rate based on predefined acceptance criteria
- Initially work as a subcontractor but willing to become an employee should the offer be presented
- Home is Cleveland or Columbus Ohio
- Willing to travel 30% of the time
How it works….
- This is a six-month program with competency targets for every two months
- Each apprentice chooses a mentor. The mentor accepts the apprentice.
- Apprentices are responsible for their own learning and growth
- Apprentices work on two projects; one assigned by the mentor and one selected by the apprentice
- The entire program is run like an agile project
The Dog is Otis, Jon Stahl's Bull Dog. Otis and his nephew Iggy can be found lounging around the boat on most days. When they feel like a little activity, Otis is an avid skateboarder and Iggy loves to surf. Yes, really, he loves the water and he loves to surf.
